بر اساس گزارشی که انجمن دفاع از زندانیان سیاسی آذربایجانی منتشر کرده «کریم بستانچی خضرآباد» از معلمان شاغل در استان آذربایجان غربی به اتهام تبلیغ علیه نظام از طریق «انتشار غیرضروری تصاویر جان بختگان اعتراضات ۱۴۰۱» به حبس و مجازات های تکمیلی محکوم شده است.
بر اساس این گزارش دادگاه تجدید نظر انقلاب استان آذربایجان غربی این معلم و فعال صنفی را به ۶۸ روز زندان، توقیف تلفن همراه، جریمه پانزده میلیون تومانی و بستن صفحه اینستاگرام محکوم کرده و اعلام کرده است که انتشار تصاویر جان باختگان اعتراضات «خلاف واقعه» بوده و ارتباطی به «انتقاد سازنده» ندارد به همین سبب آقای بستانچی را به تبلیغ علیه نظام و نشر اکاذیب متهم کرده است.
کریم بستانچی خضرآباد پیش از این نیز در شعبه دوم دادگاه انقلاب ارومیه به دلیل فعالیت در فضای مجازی به سه ماه حبس و شعبه ۱۱۰ دادگاه کیفری او را به توقیف تلفن همراه و جریمه پانزده میلیون تومانی محکوم کرده بود.
هیات تخلفات اداری آموزش و پرورش استان آذربایجان نیز آقای بستانچی را با اشاره به انتشار تصاویر شخصی خود با کراوات به «ترویج سبک زندگی غربی» متهم کرده و به سبب حمایت او از تشکل های صنفی معلمان و استفاده از الفاظ تمسخرآمیز در مورد مقامات حکومتی به «کاهش یک پایه از سنوات این معلم و بازنشستگی اجباری» محکوم کرد.
کریم بستانچی معلم زبان انگلیسی ناحیه ۲ آموزش پرورش ارومیه است و سابقه ۲۷ سال خدمت در آموزش پرورش را دارد.

According to this report, the West Azerbaijan Province Revolutionary Court of Appeals sentenced this teacher and union activist to 68 days in prison, confiscation of his mobile phone, a fine of fifteen million tomans, and the closure of his Instagram account. The court stated that the publication of images of those who died in the protests was "contrary to reality" and unrelated to "constructive criticism," thus accusing Mr. Bastanchi of propaganda against the regime and spreading falsehoods.
Previously, Karim Bastanchi Khazarabad was sentenced by the Second Branch of the Urmia Revolutionary Court to three months in prison for his activities on social media, and the 110th Criminal Court branch sentenced him to confiscation of his mobile phone and a fine of fifteen million tomans.
The Administrative Violations Board of the West Azerbaijan Province Education Department also accused Mr. Bastanchi of "promoting a Western lifestyle" by referring to the publication of his personal images wearing a tie. Due to his support for teachers' unions and his use of mocking language regarding government officials, he was sentenced to "a reduction of one grade in his service years and mandatory retirement."
