در جریان اعتراضات روز جمعه ۱۹ دی ۱۴۰۴، در شهرزیبای تهران، علی آقاجانی ۲۵ ساله، پس از اصابت گلوله جنگی به ناحیه گردن توسط نیروهای امنیتی کشته شد. بنا بر گزارش ها، به علی از پشت بام مسجد الرسول شلیک شد و او در محل جان باخت. علی روز بعد در روستایی در شهرستان تاکستان به خاک سپرده شد. او قرار بود یک روز پس از کشته شدنش ۲۶ ساله شود.
