پخشان عزیزی، اهل مهاباد، ۱۳ مرداد ۱۴۰۲، از سوی نیروهای امنیتی در تهران بازداشت و به بند ۲۰۹ زندان اوین منتقل شد.
پخشان عزیزی، فعال کُرد را مدت ها از حق دسترسی به وکیل و امکان ملاقات با خانواده خود محروم کردند و او را در نهایت پس از چهار ماه بازجویی در تاریخ ۲۰ آذر ۱۴۰۲، به بند زنان زندان اوین انتقال دادند.
شبکه حقوق بشر کردستان نیز در آن زمان گزارش کرد که پخشان عزیزی را برای انجام اعترافات اجباری به «عضویت در گرو ه های اپوزیسیون» از سوی بازجویان امنیتی مورد شکنجه جسمی و روحی قرار داده اند.
خشان عزیزی در اعتراض به شکنجه و فشار بازجویان برای پذیرش این اتهام و انجام اعترافات تلویزیونی به مدت چند روز دست به اعتصاب غذا زد و با رد کلیه اتهام های مطرح شده، اعلام کرده که به مدت چندین سال به عنوان مددکار اجتماعی و مترجم در مناطق جنگ زده در کردستان سوریه فعالیت داشته است.
پخشان عزیزی، فارغ التحصیل مددکاری اجتماعی از دانشگاه علامه طباطبایی تهران، پیش از این نیز سابقه بازداشت داشته است.
پخشان عزیزی برای اولین بار ۲۵ آبان ۸۸ در گردهمایی اعتراضی دانشجويان کُرد دانشگاه تهران عليه اعدام های سياسی در کردستان، به دست مأموران امنیتی بازداشت شد. این فعال کُرد پس از چهار ماه بازداشت با قرار وثیقه آزاد و پس از مدتی از ایران خارج شد و طی سال های اخیر در اقلیم کردستان عراق اقامت داشت.
