According to Human Rights in Iran, quoting Mizan, at dawn on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 15 Mordad 1404 in the Iranian calendar , Roozbeh Vadi, son of Ebrahim, a PhD graduate in nuclear engineering and a security prisoner, was executed. He was accused of "espionage and intelligence cooperation in favor of Israel, with the receipt of a specific amount in exchange for spying."
According to the report, Roozbeh Vadi was arrested on charges of "espionage and intelligence cooperation for Mossad" and was executed in a process described as highly ambiguous.
The report also claims that Vadi had deliberately collaborated with Mossad.
The convict had been employed at one of the organizations affiliated with Irans nuclear program, and due to the level of access he had, he was allegedly working for the Israeli intelligence service.
Initially, Roozbeh Vadi came into contact via cyberspace with a person named Alex an alias for a Mossad officer . Given Vadis workplace and level of access, Alex told him that the assessment phase was over and that he would be introduced to one of Mossads best divisions.
After some time, another Mossad officer named Kevin, who was assigned to guide Roozbeh Vadi, contacted him, marking the official start of Vadis collaboration with Mossad.
At Vadis request, it was agreed that instead of a rewardbased system, a fixed monthly payment would be transferred to him via a cryptocurrency wallet.
With the official start of cooperation, Kevin explained the importance of information security and instructed Vadi to purchase a mobile phone, a laptop, and two USB flash drives to establish a secure communication channel.
After receiving technical training and setting up secure communication using the equipment he had purchased, Mossad pushed Vadi toward extracting and transmitting classified and sensitive information.
In the next stage, after sending some of the requested information, Roozbeh Vadi was assigned to prepare for a trip to Vienna. During this trip, he met with Mossad officers on five occasions in Vienna, the capital of Austria.
While engaged in these intelligence activities, Vadi was placed under surveillance by Iranian security agencies after returning to Tehran from one of his meetings with a Mossad officer. His connections and the nature of his cooperation with Israel were discovered, and he was subsequently arrested by a security agency.
The case was referred to a branch of the Tehran Revolutionary Court with an indictment and an arrest warrant for charges of "espionage and intelligence cooperation in favor of Israel in exchange for a specified amount." During legal proceedings, Roozbeh Vadi was denied the right to choose his own lawyer based on the application of Note to Article 48 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Earlier, Vadi had also traveled to Austria to participate in training programs related to his field of work, and this time, under the direction of Mossad, he used the pretext of attending a specialized training course to travel to Vienna.
Vadi described the situation regarding his Mossad handler as follows:
“I suggested to Kevin that I send a package of collected information weekly, and they could pay me gradually. But the Mossad officer strongly rejected this idea and told me I had to send all accessible information at once, and after evaluation, the appropriate reward would be paid.”
Collecting information and transmitting classified documents, as well as any other data he could access, were central aspects of Vadis broad cooperation with the Zionist regime.
