Comment: Hossein Rezaei, 26 years old from Mashhad, was shot three times—in the heart, shoulder, and side—by the Islamic Republic regime during the national uprising near Meraj Square on 9 January 2026 and was killed.
His family was forced to pay 500 million tomans to retrieve his body. He was ultimately buried in the village of Shirhesar, beside his mother’s grave.
