احد اکبری در جریان اعتراضات پنج شنبه ۱۸ دی ۱۴۰۴ در منطقه ی هفت حوض تهران کشته شده است.
پیکر او روز دوشنبه ۲۲ دی توسط خانواده اش در کهریزک پیدا و ۲۳ دی ماه به خاک سپرده شد.
بر اساس گزارش شاهدان احد اکبری با شلیک نیروهای سرکوبگر جمهوری اسلامی به کمرش مجروح شده و توسط این نیروها ربوده شده بود.

His body was found by his family in Kahrizak on Monday, January 12, and was buried on January 13.
