در ۱۱ تیر ۱۳۹۸، فردی در منطقه مرزی چالدران در استان آذربایجان غربی همراه با گروهی از اعضای پ ک ک در کمین نیروهای سپاه پاسداران قرار گرفت و پس از زخمی شدن بازداشت شد. ابتدا به بازداشتگاه اطلاعات سپاه در ارومیه منتقل شد و پس از حدود ۵۰ روز بازجویی به زندان مرکزی ارومیه انتقال یافت. در اسفند ۱۴۰۰، دادگاه انقلاب خوی او را به اعدام و ۵ سال حبس محکوم کرد. حکم اعدام ابتدا در دیوان عالی کشور نقض شد، اما در اردیبهشت ۱۴۰۳، دادگاه انقلاب ارومیه دوباره او را به اعدام محکوم کرد. در شهریور ۱۴۰۳، دیوان عالی کشور حکم اعدام را تأیید کرد.

A citizen of Turkey and a prisoner in Urmia prison, was again sentenced to execution by the third branch of the Revolutionary Court of this city for the charge of (fight against god). His death sentence was previously overturned in the Supreme Court and his case was referred to the same branch for re-examination.
On 2 July 2019, an individual was apprehended in the border area of Chaldoran in West Azerbaijan Province after being injured during an ambush involving a group of members of the Kurdistan Workers' Party. The individual was initially transferred to the Intelligence Department detention center in Urmia and, after approximately 50 days of interrogation, was moved to Urmia Central Prison. In March 2022, the Revolutionary Court in Khoy sentenced the individual to death and five years of imprisonment. The death sentence was initially overturned by the Supreme Court; however, in May 2024, the Revolutionary Court in Urmia reissued the death sentence. In September 2024, the Supreme Court upheld the death sentence.
