Bizhan Mostafavi, a retired employee of the Ministry of Education and a native of Songhor, along with his wife Zahra BaniAmarian, a retiree of the Social Security Organization, and Danial Mostafavi, their 19yearold son and a university student, members of one family, were targeted by gunfire from government agents on Friday, January 9, 2026 19 Dey 1404 in the city of Karaj, and lost their lives.

Reports indicate that at the time of the incident, the family was inside their private vehicle. During the protests, their car was sprayed with bullets by government agents. As a result of this shooting, Bijan Mostafavi, Zahra BaniAmarian, and Danial Mostafavi were killed.
