به گفته منابع آگاه، پیکر این شهروند پس از جست وجوهای طولانی خانواده در بیمارستان البرز کرج شناسایی شده و نهادهای حکومتی برای تحویل جسد مبلغی در حدود یک میلیارد تومان مطالبه کرده اند؛ در عین حال از خانواده خواسته شده بود اعلام کنند او عضو بسیج بوده است، که خانواده نپذیرفته و تأکید کرده اند وی صرفاً برای کارگری به کرج رفته بود. در نهایت، پیکر این شهروند روز سەشنبە ۲۳ دی ماه در زادگاهش، شهر گُشت، به خاک سپرده شده است.
