بر اساس اطلاعات رسیده به «ایران وایر»، شهروند ۳۲ساله اهل «گرگان» روز ۱۸دی۱۴۰۴ در اعتراضات «شاهرود» به دست ماموران سرکوب گر کشته شده است.
به گفته یک منبع نزدیک به خانواده متین او صبح روز ۱۸دی با یکی از بستگانش گفتگو کرده و گفته چون در گرگان در روزهای گذشته اعتراضی نبوده، همراه با یک نفر دیگر از بستگان به شاهرود خواهد رفت.
این منبع آگاه می گوید: «تا قبل از فراخوان شاهزاده رضا پهلوی گرگان هیچ خبری نبود. متین برای همین تصمیم گرفت برود شاهرود. آنجا شب های قبل و در بقیه جنبش های اجتماعی همیشه شلوغ است.»
شامگاه ۱۸دی گرگان نیز به اعتراضات پیوست و همه اعضای خانواده متین در آن حاضر بودند.
منبع آگاهی که با ایران وایر گفتگو کرده است، می گوید: «تا قبل از اینکه اینترنت قطع شود متین و خانواده اش از شاهرود و گرگان با هم تماس داشتند. سیل جمعیت در هر دو شهر بیرون بود و تقریبا مامورها شهر را از دست داده بودند. بعد از قطعی اینترنت اما مامورها شروع به تیراندازی گسترده کردند. خانواده متین به خانه برگشتند اما چون اینترنت قطع بود هیچ خبری از متین نداشتند.»
این عضو نزدیک به خانواده متین می گوید افرادی که سن بیشتری داشتند وقتی تیراندازی شد به خانه برگشتند اما جوان ها همچنان در خیابان بودند.
این منبع آگاه می گوید: «متین و یکی دیگر از اعضای خانواده ما با هم رفتند و هر دو ۱۸دی کشته شدند. پیکرش را روز ۲۲دی بالاخره تحویل دادند. اینترنت قطع است و نمی دانیم با چه شرایطی پیکرها را تحویل دادند و به خاک سپردند.»
