دکتر علی عباس زورقچیان، ۵۲ ساله و شهروند گیلک اهل ساری، دارای دکترای مهندسی کامپیوتر از دانشگاه صنعتی امیرکبیر، در جریان اعتراضات سراسری دی ماه ۱۴۰۴ در شهر ساری بازداشت شده است.
بر اساس اطلاعات دریافتی، او در زمان بازداشت سالم بوده، اما چند روز بعد، نیروهای امنیتی با خانواده اش تماس گرفته و اعلام کرده اند که برای تحویل پیکر او مراجعه کنند. به گفته منابع مطلع، دکتر زورقچیان در دوران بازداشت و در زندان جان خود را از دست داده و شواهد حاکی از شلیک تیر خلاص به اوست.
پیکر این شهروند اهل ساری در آرامگاه ملا مجدالدین این شهر به خاک سپرده شده است. تا زمان تنظیم این گزارش، مقام های رسمی هیچ توضیح شفافی درباره علت مرگ، روند بازداشت و شرایط نگهداری او ارائه نکرده اند.
