On 4 July 2024, Abbasali Zolghari, an artist and poet residing in the city of Dehaghan in Isfahan Province, was sentenced to one year of imprisonment. The ruling was issued by Judge Mohammad Dehghani Farahani, a judge at the Revolutionary Court in Branch 101 of the Criminal Court 2 in Dehaghan.
Abbasali Zolghari was convicted on charges of insulting leadership in cyberspace, insulting officials and agents, and engaging in propaganda against the system. Prior to this, an interrogation session and the presentation of charges against him had taken place at the Dehaghan Prosecutor's Office.
