On the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026, Mehrdad Reihani, the father of a 6-month-old daughter, and Mohammad Hossein Mousavi, from Shahreza in Isfahan province, were killed by gunfire from government forces.
Mehrdad Reihani was killed by a direct shot to the head from half a meter away when he attempted to rescue and transport an injured girl. His body was identified by his family among many others killed in Bagh Rezvan, Isfahan, after 8 days. It was buried quietly without permission for public notification and after securing a commitment.
