On 3 August 2023, three individuals were arrested by intelligence forces in Ahvaz. The main charges included corruption on earth, armed rebellion, membership in opposition groups, and propaganda against the regime. In July 2025, the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Ahvaz sentenced each of these individuals to two death sentences and one year of discretionary imprisonment. In November 2025, the Supreme Court upheld the two death sentences for Alireza Mardasi, Masoud Jamei, and Farshad Etemadifar and communicated the verdicts to them.
