Keyvan Moradi Mirani, a 37-year-old Kurdish citizen, worker, athlete, and father of one child, was killed on January 8, 2026, during public protests in Qods City, Tehran Province, after being shot in the shoulder and chest by military-security forces of the Islamic Republic. After several days of uncertainty and searching, his family identified his body in Kahrizak. Security agencies pressured the family to attribute Keyvan Moradi Mirani's death to the protesters, but they refused.
