Kaveh Eftekhari, 21 years old, was shot in the heart with a live bullet and killed on the evening of January 8, 2026, in the neighborhood of "Shahin Villa" in Karaj.
Kaveh's friend, Abbasi, says: "The area around Kaveh's workplace had become crowded, so they closed the shop early. I was in contact with him until 7 PM. He said he would go straight home after closing. I was sure his mother had called several times, insisting he go home. Their house was in the Shahin Villa neighborhood, a place where protests usually don't occur, but even there it was crowded that night. Right at the corner of their street, he was shot in the heart."
Kaveh's mother repeatedly tried to contact him, but the calls went unanswered. After several missed calls, a stranger answered: "They gave his mother the address and pleaded with her to come quickly. When she arrived, she saw that he had been shot, and a few people were helping to put him in a car and take him to the hospital. They arrived at the hospital around 9 PM, and he was taken for resuscitation, but it was too late."
Around 10 PM, Kaveh's family was informed that he had been killed. Kaveh's girlfriend says that his body, along with several others, was transferred to "Behesht Sakineh" in Karaj that night: "They didn't bother us that night, but they kept his body for a few days and didn't release it, saying there was no ambulance and Kaveh was in line. In the end, they didn't allow burial in Karaj, and he was laid to rest somewhere near Qazvin."

«کاوه افتخاری» ۲۱ساله شامگاه ۱۸ دی ۱۴۰۴ در محله «شاهین ویلا» در کرج با شلیک گلوله جنگی به قلبش کشته شده است.
دوست کاوه عباسی می گوید: «اطراف محل کار کاوه شلوغ شده بود برای همین مغازه را زود تعطیل کردند. من تا ساعت ۷عصر با او در تماس بودم. گفت بعد از تعطیلی مستقیم به خانه می رود. مطمین بودم مادرش چندبار تماس گرفته و تاکید کرده به خانه برود. خانه شان در محله شاهین ویلا بود. جایی که معمولا اعتراضی آنجا صورت نمی گیرد اما آن شب حتی آن جا هم شلوغ شده بود. درست سر کوچه خانه شان به قلبش تیر زدند.»
مادر کاوه بارها با او تماس می گیرد اما تماس ها بی پاسخ می مانند. بعد از چند تماس بی پاسخ یک غریبه جواب می دهد: «به مادرش آدرس را گفته و التماس کرده بودند سریع خودش را برساند. مادرش که رسید دیده بود تیر خورده و چند نفر دارند کمک می کنند سوار ماشینش کنند و به بیمارستان ببرند. حدود ۹شب رسیدند به بیمارستان برای احیا هم او را بردند اما دیر شده بود.»
حوالی ده شب به خانواده کاوه می گویند او کشته شده است. دوست دختر کاوه می گوید آن شب پیکر کاوه همراه با چند کشته دیگر به «بهشت سکینه» در کرج منتقل شد: «آن شب ما را اذیت نکردند اما پیکرش را تا چند روز نگه داشتند و تحویل ندادند می گفتند آمبولانس نیست و کاوه توی نوبت است. در نهایت هم اجازه دفن در کرج ندادند و او را جایی نزدیک قزوین به خاک سپردند.»
