September 19, 2022, following the call of Kurdistan's political parties and civil society, people in the cities of Saqqez, Sanandaj, Baneh, Bukan, Piranshahr, Ashnoye, Mahabad, Dehgolan, Diwandara, Ravansar and Marivan went on a general strike by shutting down their businesses. At the same time, protesting citizens took part in the main streets of these cities and organized protest rallies and demonstrations.

The armed agents of the Islamic regime violently suppressed popular protests in many of these cities, and according to the Kurdistan Human Rights Network, as a result of the agents shooting at the protesters, 3 Kurdish citizens named Mohsen Mohammadi in Diwandara, Fereydun Mahmoudi, 30 years old, The father of two children was killed in Saqez and Reza Lotfi in Dehgolan.

The body of Fereydoun Mahmoudi, who was killed by counterinsurgency forces in Saqqez, was transferred to Shafai Hospital in this city.

۲۸ شهریور ۱۴۰۱ به دنبال فراخوان احزاب سیاسی و جامعه مدنی کردستان، مردم در شهرهای سقز، سنندج، بانه، بوکان، پیرانشهر، اشنویه، مهاباد، دهگلان، دیواندره، روانسر و مریوان با تعطیلی گسترده محل های کسب و کار خود دست به اعتصاب عمومی زدند. همزمان شهروندان معترض با حضور در خیابان های اصلی این شهرها اقدام به برگزاری تجمعات و تظاهرات های اعتراضی کردند.

ماموران مسلح رژیم اسلامی ایران در بسیاری از این شهرها دست به سرکوب خشونت آمیز اعتراضات مردمی زدند و بنا به اطلاع شبکه حقوق بشر کردستان در نتیجه تیراندازی ماموران به سمت معترضان ۳ شهروند کُرد به نام های محسن محمدی در دیواندره، فریدون محمودی، ۳۰ ساله، پدر دو فرزند در سقز و رضا لطفی در دهگلان کشته شدند.

جسد فریدون محمودی که در اثر تیراندازی نیروهای ضدشورش در سقز کشته شد به بیمارستان شفای این شهر انتقال یافت.
