در تاریخ ۲۰ بهمن ماه ۱۳۹۷ معین خنفری فرزند: اسرائیل – متولد: ۱۳۷۲ اهل روستای کوت سید صالح از توابع بخش مرکزی شهرستان کارون توسط ماموران اداره اطلاعات سپاه اهواز بازداشت شده بود. وی پس از اتمام بازجوئی در شعبه ۱۲ دادسرای عمومی و انقلاب اهواز تفهیم اتهام شد.
در تاریخ ۲۷ بهمن ماه ۱۴۰۱، شعبه ۴ دادگاه انقلاب اهواز مرکز استان خوزستان با صدور دادنامه ای این زندانی سیاسی محبوس در بند ۵ زندان شیبان اهواز را به اعدام محکوم کرد.
سحرگاه شنبه ۱۲ مهر ماه ۱۴۰۴، معین خنفری اعدام شد. اتهامات منتسب شده به این زندانی«مشارکت در عاملیت در اقدامات مسلحانه»، «عاملیت در قتل مسلحانه الله نظر صفری، محمدرضا رفیعی نسب، علی صالحی مجد و یونس بحر» از افراد نیروی انتظامی، «طراحی و اجرای اقدامات خرابکارانه ای نظیر ساخت و کارگذاری بمب»، «انفجار ایستگاه گاز خرمشهر»، «حمله مسلحانه به بانک ها»، «پرتاب نارنجک به مرکز نظامی» و «تیراندازی به مساجد در استان خوزستان»، عنوان شده است. همچنین، در ادامه ادعا شده این زندانی برای ارتکاب به جرائم مذکور با «عوامل معاند نظام در خارج از کشور» در ارتباط بوده است.
کریم دحیمی، فعال حقوق بشر در گفتگو با گزارشگر حفوق بشر در ایران اعلام کرد:”اولا، یک قتلی که در آبادان بوده و حدود ۱ ماه بعد این افراد دستگیر شدند و به گفته فرماندار آبادان این قتل بر اثر اختلافات خانوادگی بوده و وقتی بعد از بازداشت وی، این اتهامات را به او نسبت می دهند جای سوال دارد. از سوی دیگر، نسبت دادن اتهام «ارتباط با اسرائیل» کذب است. پس از اجرای احکام اعدام وی، حتی جسدش هم به خانوادها تحویل نشده و از سوی دیگر، بنا بر چه روند دادرسی وی تحت بازجویی، بازپرسی و مورد اخذ اعتراف قرار گرفته و اعترافات وی توام با شکنجه بوده و حتی بازجویان، در دوران بازجویی، خانوادهایاو را تهدید به تجاوز کردند. حتی این زندانی، در دوران بازجویی به شدت مورد ضرب و شتم و شکتجه قرار گرفته است. روند دادرسی، به پرونده وی کاملا بدون در نظر گرفتن رعابت حق دادرسی عادلانه بوده است.” وی در ادامه افزود:”خانواده وی تهدید شده که حق برگزاری مراسم عزاداری برایش ندارند و خانواده حتی از لحظه اجرای حکم اعدام، حق آخرین ملاقات هم محروم بودند و بدون اعلام به خانواده ها اعدام شده است
On February 9, 2019, Moein Khonfari, son of Israel, born in 1993 and a resident of the village of Kute Seyyed Saleh, part of the Central District of Karun County, was arrested by agents of the IRGC Intelligence Department in Ahvaz. After his interrogation, he was formally charged at Branch 12 of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutors Office in Ahvaz.
On February 16, 2023, Branch 4 of the Revolutionary Court of Ahvaz, the capital of Khuzestan Province, issued a verdict sentencing this political prisoner — who was held in Ward 5 of Sheiban Prison in Ahvaz — to death.
At dawn on Saturday, October 4, 2025, Moein Khonfari was executed.
The charges brought against him included: 'participation and involvement in armed operations,' 'direct involvement in the armed killing of AllahNazar Safari, Mohammadreza RafieeNasab, Ali SalehiMajd, and Younes Bahr,' all members of the Law Enforcement Forces, 'planning and executing acts of sabotage such as manufacturing and planting bombs,' 'the explosion at the Khorramshahr gas station,' 'armed attacks on banks,' 'throwing grenades at a military center,' and 'shooting at mosques in Khuzestan Province.' It was also claimed that he was in contact with 'antiregime elements abroad' to carry out these alleged acts.
Karim Dahimi, a human rights activist, told the Iran Human Rights reporter: 'First of all, there was a murder in Abadan, and these individuals were arrested about a month later. According to the governor of Abadan, the killing stemmed from a family dispute. So attributing such charges to him after his arrest is questionable. Furthermore, the allegation of "links with Israel" is false.'
After his execution, even his body was not handed over to the family. Additionally, questions remain over the legal process he underwent — from interrogation to prosecution and confession. His confessions were extracted under torture, and during interrogation, the interrogators reportedly threatened his family members with sexual assault. He was also severely beaten and tortured during questioning. The legal process in his case entirely disregarded the right to a fair trial.
The activist further added: 'His family was threatened and told they were not allowed to hold a mourning ceremony for him. They were even denied a final visit before the execution, which was carried out without any prior notice to the family.'"
