سحر بیات در منطقه نارمک تهران با اصابت گلوله به سرش جان باخت. گزارش شده است که همسر او پیکر سحر را به بیمارستان الغدیر تهران منتقل کرد. خانواده پس از چند روز پیگیری، پیکر او را از سردخانه بهشت زهرا تهران تحویل گرفتند و در زادگاه پدری او در روستای سوتلق تویسرکان به خاک سپردند. گفته شده است که پیش از مراسم خاکسپاری، نهادهای امنیتی شهرستان تویسرکان از خانواده تعهد گرفتند که در مراسم هیچ شعاری داده نشود. سحر بیات هنرمند بود و آثار نقاشی زیادی از او به یادگار مانده است. او به کوهنوردی، اسکی و سفر علاقه داشت. از خاکسپاری او در تهران جلوگیری شد و در تویسرکان به خاک سپرده شد.

Her burial in Tehran was prevented, and she was forced to be laid to rest in Tuyserkan (her mother's hometown).
Sahar Bayat passed away after being shot in the head in the Narmak area of Tehran. It was reported that her husband transported her body to Alghadir Hospital in Tehran. After several days of follow-up, the family retrieved her body from the Behesht Zahra morgue in Tehran and buried her in her father's hometown of Sootlaq village, Tuyserkan. Before the burial ceremony, it was stated that security agencies in Tuyserkan required the family to commit to not allowing any slogans during the ceremony. Sahar Bayat was an artist, and many of her paintings remain as a legacy. She had interests in mountaineering, skiing, and travel. Her burial in Tehran was prevented, and she was laid to rest in Tuyserkan.
