جان باختن بابک متین آزاد از معترضان خیزش ملی و فرزند یکی از افسران نیروی هوایی
بابک متین آزاد ۴۹ ساله شاغل در منطقه لاله زار تهران شامگاه جمعه ۱۹ دی ماه برای پیوستن به صف معترضان خیزش ملی دی۱۴۰۴ از خانه خود در خیابان نیلوفر خارج شد و هرگز بازنگشت.
طی پنج روز بی خبری خانواده بابک برای یافتن نشانی از او به تمام بیمارستان های اطراف بهشت زهرا و دیگر نهادهای امدادی سر زده بودند اما هیچ نشانی از او بدست نیاوردند تا اینکه فردی با یکی از اعضای خانواده بابک متین آزاد تماس گرفت که برای تشخیص هویت به سردخانه یک بیمارستان مراجعه کنند.
یکی از نزدیکان بابک متین آزاد به «کیهان لندن» گفته «با توجه به اینکه گلوله به سر بابک اصابت کرده بوده تشخیص هویت برای خانواده او سخت بود و آنها از روی لباسی که بابک در شب آخر بر تن کرده بوده و از خانه بیرون رفته بود او را تشخیص دادند.»
این فرد آگاه افزوده «خانواده بابک متین آزاد مطلع شده بودند که ماموران پیکر فرزند آنها را از روی اثر انگشت و شماره ملی شناسایی کرده بودند.»
بابک متین آزاد قرار بود در روزهای آینده تولد ۵۰ سالگی خود را در کنار همسر و دو پسر ۴ و ۹ ساله خود جشن بگیرد.

Babak Matin Azad, a 49-year-old resident of the Lalehzar area in Tehran, left his home on Niloufar Street on the evening of Friday, January 8, 2026, to join the ranks of protesters in the national uprising and never returned. During the five days of uncertainty, Babak's family visited all hospitals around Behesht Zahra and other emergency institutions in search of any sign of him, but found nothing. Eventually, an individual contacted a member of Babak Matin Azad's family, requesting them to visit the morgue of a hospital for identification purposes.
A close associate of Babak Matin Azad stated that identifying him was difficult for the family because he had been shot in the head. They recognized him by the clothes he was wearing on the last night when he left the house. The source added that Babak Matin Azad's family had been informed that authorities identified his body through fingerprint and national ID number.
Babak Matin Azad was supposed to celebrate his 50th birthday in the coming days with his wife and two sons, aged 4 and 9.
