Hassan Golshan-Nejad was arrested by government forces while at a friend's café in March 2026 and transferred to Vakilabad Prison in Mashhad. After approximately eight months of temporary detention, he was tried on 20 October 2026 at the Mashhad Revolutionary Court. He was sentenced to death on charges including "enmity against God," "assembly and collusion," "insulting the leadership," "participation in protests," "collaboration with a hostile government (Israel)," and "damage to public property."
During the first three months of his detention, Hassan Golshan-Nejad was denied access to a chosen lawyer. During interrogation, he was subjected to severe physical torture to extract forced confessions, resulting in the fracture of one of his ribs due to beatings by officers.
حسن گلشن نژاد در اسفندماه ۱۴۰۴، هنگام حضور در کافه یکی از دوستانش توسط نیروهای حکومتی بازداشت و به زندان وکیل آباد مشهد منتقل شد.
وی پس از حدود هشت ماه بازداشت موقت، در تاریخ ۲۸ مهرماه ۱۴۰۵ در شعبه دادگاه انقلاب مشهد محاکمه و بابت اتهاماتی نظیر «محاربه»، «اجتماع و تبانی»، «توهین به رهبری»، «شرکت در اعتراضات»، «همکاری با دولت متخاصم (اسرائیل)» و «آسیب به اموال عمومی» به اعدام محکوم گردید.
حسن گلشن نژاد در ۳ ماه نخست بازداشت از حق دسترسی به وکیل انتخابی محروم بوده و در دوران بازجویی جهت اخذ اعترافات اجباری تحت شکنجه شدید جسمی قرار داشته، به طوری که بر اثر ضرب وشتم مأموران یکی از دنده های وی شکسته است.
