Reports indicate that on 10 June 2023, Zahra Esfandiari, an educational union activist from Fars Province, was tried by the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court in Shiraz.
On 12 May 2022, Zahra Esfandiari, along with five other educational union activists, was arrested by security forces during a protest gathering of educators in Shiraz. Following her transfer to the Shiraz Intelligence Detention Centre, she underwent interrogation and was formally charged. On 13 July 2022, after the completion of interrogations, Zahra Esfandiari was released on bail.
It has been reported that Zahra Esfandiari is serving her custodial sentence after appearing at the Enforcement Branch of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in Shiraz and being fitted with an electronic bracelet. The enforcement of her custodial sentence occurred without the issuance of a formal notice.
On 21 July 2025, it was reported that Zahra Esfandiari's electronic bracelet was removed. She had been sentenced to two years of imprisonment due to her union activities.
بر اساس گزارش ها، در تاریخ 20 خرداد 1402، زهرا اسفندیاری، فعال صنفی فرهنگیان استان فارس، توسط شعبه اول دادگاه انقلاب شیراز محاکمه شد.
در تاریخ 22 اردیبهشت 1401، زهرا اسفندیاری به همراه پنج نفر از فعالان صنفی فرهنگیان در جریان برگزاری تجمع اعتراضی فرهنگیان در شهر شیراز توسط نیروهای امنیتی بازداشت شد. پس از انتقال به بازداشتگاه اداره اطلاعات شیراز و طی مراحل بازجویی و تفهیم اتهام، در تاریخ 22 تیر 1401، زهرا اسفندیاری پس از اتمام بازجویی ها تفهیم اتهام و به قید وثیقه آزاد شد.
در گزارشی دیگر آمده است که زهرا اسفندیاری پس از حضور در شعبه اجرای احکام دادسرای عمومی و انقلاب شیراز و نصب پابند الکترونیکی، دوران حبس تعزیری خود را سپری می کند. اجرای حکم حبس تعزیری وی بدون ارسال ابلاغیه انجام شده است.
در تاریخ 30 تیر 1404، گزارش شده است که پابند الکترونیکی زهرا اسفندیاری باز شده است. وی به دلیل فعالیت های صنفی خود به دو سال حبس محکوم شده بود.
