Borhan Karami was a young man who was killed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kamyaran during the "Woman, Life, Freedom" uprising in Iran.
Borhan Karami, the son of Mahmoud and Ameneh, was born in the village of Charsaneh. He was married and had one child. His occupation was construction work.
According to some human rights sources, a large gathering was held in the Farhang Sara neighborhood of Kamyaran on November 16, 2022, to express solidarity with the family of Fouad Mohammadi, one of those killed in the nationwide protests of 2022. This gathering faced a deadly attack by government forces, during which at least one protester named Borhan Karami was killed by a sniper of the Revolutionary Guard with a direct gunshot to his head.
A video of the moment Borhan Karami was killed was released, showing that during the shooting, the Revolutionary Guard accused the person next to him of being the shooter and killer of Borhan, claiming that the shooter fired the bullet into Borhan Karami's abdomen. However, according to analysts, if the bullet had been fired into his abdomen, his body would not have immediately fallen motionless to the ground. Moreover, based on eyewitness accounts and existing footage of his body, the bullet entered through his face and exited from the back of his head, which refutes the theory that he was shot by the person next to him.
According to a family acquaintance, the security forces of the Islamic Republic coerced Borhan Karami's family at the hospital in Kamyaran to agree to bury their son's body secretly and without public presence. However, a significant number of citizens from various cities in Kurdistan attended his burial ceremony in his hometown village. During the ceremony, people chanted: "Mother, don't cry for your child; we vow to take revenge."
In the village of Charsaneh in Kamyaran, Borhan Karami's fortieth-day memorial ceremony was held with a large public presence and chants of "Death to the dictator."
برهان کرمی جوانی بود که در جریان خیزش "زن زندگی آزادی" ایران توسط نیروهای سپاه نظام جمهوری اسلامی ایران در کامیاران کشته شد.
برهان کرمی، فرزند محمود و آمنه، متولد روستای چرسانه و متأهل و دارای یک فرزند بود. شغل او کارگری ساختمانی بود.
بنا بر گزارش برخی منابع حقوق بشری، تجمع گسترده ای که در محله فرهنگ سرای شهر کامیاران در تاریخ 25 آبان 1401 برای ابراز همدردی با خانواده فؤاد محمدی، یکی از کشته شدگان اعتراضات سراسری ۱۴۰۱ برگزار شده بود که با حمله مرگبار نیروهای حکومتی روبه رو شد که در این حمله، دست کم یکی از معترضان به نام برهان کرمی با شلیک مستقیم گلوله جنگی به سرش به دست تک تیرانداز سپاه کشته شد.
ویدیویی از لحظه کشته شدن برهان کرمی پخش شد که در جریان این تیراندازی که سپاه پاسداران فرد کنار دستش را ضارب و قاتل برهان می داند و اعلام می کند ضارب تیر را به شکم برهان کرمی شلیک کرده است اما طبق گفته تحلیل گران درصورتی که تیر به شکم وی شلیک می شد جسم وی بلافاصله بدون حرکت بر روی زمین نمی افتاد از طرفی با توجه به گفته های شاهدان عینی و فیلم موجود از جنازه وی تیر از ناحیه صورت وی وارد و از ناحیه پشت سر خارج شده است. که فرضیه تیر خوردن از فرد بغل دستی را رد می کند.
به گفته یکی از نزدیکان خانواده کرمی، نیروهای امنیتی جمهوری اسلامی با حضور در بیمارستان شهر کامیاران، از خانواده برهان کرمی برای به خاکسپاری پیکر فرزندشان به صورت مخفیانه و بدون حضور مردم، تعهد گرفته بودند؛ ولی در مراسم خاکسپاری اش در روستای زادگاهش شمار چشمگیری از شهروندان از شهرهای مختلف کردستان شرکت کردند. مردم در این مراسم شعار می دادند: «دایه! برای فرزندت گریه نکن؛ عهد باشد که انتقامش را بگیریم».
در روستای چرسانه در کامیاران مراسم چهلم برهان کرمی با حضور گسترده مردم و با شعار مرگ بر دیکتاتور برگزار شد.
