Behzad Davari was arrested during the protests in December 2025. While in detention, he was subjected to severe physical torture. Upon his release, he had severely swollen and injured hands and body. Only a week after being released from detention, on 27 February 2026, he passed away at home due to a stroke and cardiac arrest, which were directly caused by the torture.
Intelligence forces exerted pressure and severe threats on his grieving family, forcing them to bury him in complete silence and isolation in a village. They were even threatened with the exhumation of his body if any information was disclosed.
بهزاد داوری در جریان اعتراضات دی ماه ۱۴۰۴ بازداشت شد. او را در بازداشتگاه تحت شدیدترین و بی رحمانه ترین شکنجه های جسمی قرار دادند. زمانی که آزاد شد، دست ها و بدنی به شدت متورم و آسیب دیده داشت. تنها یک هفته پس از ترخیص از این شکنجه گاه، در تاریخ ۲۷ بهمن ۱۴۰۴، در خانه بر اثر سکته مغزی و ایست قلبیِ ناشی از عوارض مستقیم شکنجه ها جان باخت.
نیروهای اطلاعات با اعمال فشار و تهدیدِ شدید، خانواده داغدارش را مجبور کردند تا او را در خفقان مطلق و در انزوای یک روستا به خاک بسپارند. حتی تهدید کرده بودند که در صورت هرگونه اطلاع رسانی، پیکر او را نبش قبر خواهند کرد.
