Murdered
Iman Tavakoli Tusi, born in 1988, was arrested during the nationwide protests in Karaj on January 9, 2026.
A knowledgeable source reported that on January 9, he was taken while his wife was at work. They did not allow her to go until late at night due to the unrest. At midnight, she came home to find a note from Iman saying he had gone out and would return on his own, asking her to take care of the children. He hadn't taken his phone, wallet, or any documents. Iman had been arrested in 2019 as well, which left a record for him. This time, his wife was made to run between the prison, the intelligence office, and the hospital for over two weeks. A few days ago, she received a call to come to Behesht-e Sakineh in Karaj to identify a body. There were signs of torture on his body and a shot to his forehead.
Iman Tavakoli Tusi was a 35-year-old elevator factory worker and father of two children, Arsham, 9, and Parham, 2.
