Concerns have been raised regarding the imprisonment sentence of Pouria Amini. Pouria Amini, a former student of Mashhad University and the child of Hashem Amini, a former political prisoner, had previously spent several months in Gonabad Prison before being released on bail of three billion tomans. In the initial judicial proceedings, he was acquitted of charges related to disturbing public order, street protests, and insulting the leadership.
According to available reports, evidence such as surveillance camera footage, including those from a city petrol station, witness statements, and reports submitted to the court, played a role in the initial verdict. However, it has been claimed that following security pressures and the involvement of certain relevant institutions in the case process, a request was made for a total of thirteen years of imprisonment for him. Ultimately, a definitive sentence of five years imprisonment was issued.
Following the official notification of the sentence, all human rights activists, reporters, civil activists, and independent media are being urged to raise awareness about this case and amplify the voice of this young individual.
