On 17 September 2025, an appeals court confirmed heavy sentences for five Christian converts, including one individual identified as Morteza (Calvin) Faqanpour Sasi. The five converts, along with at least two others, were arrested in June 2024 in the cities of Varamin and Pishva and were held in Evin Prison for a period ranging from one to six months. Collectively, they received sentences totaling more than 40 years in prison.
Morteza (Calvin) Faqanpour Sasi was also sentenced to an additional 17 months in prison for charges related to "insulting the leader of the Islamic Republic" on social media.

مرتضی (کالوین) فقان پور ساسی به اتهام «توهین به رهبر جمهوری اسلامی» در شبکه های اجتماعی نیز به ۱۷ ماه حبس اضافی محکوم گردیده است.
