رضا ابوالحسنی، اهل خمین، در جریان اعتراضات ۱۸ دی ماه ۱۴۰۴ در این شهر مجروح شد و ۱۵ اسفندماه بر اثر شدت جراحات وارده در بیمارستان خمینی تهران جان باخت. گزارش ها حاکی از آن است که او از فاصله نزدیک هدف گلوله قرار گرفت و پیکر زخمی اش به بیمارستان خمین منتقل شد. شدت جراحات به حدی بود که او را پس از دو روز به بیمارستان خمینی تهران منتقل کردند. گزارش شده است که ماموران حکومتی حاضر در بیمارستان از ملاقات خانواده با او جلوگیری کردند. در نهایت، رضا ابوالحسنی ۱۵اسفندماه بر اثر عفونت شدید ناشی از اصابت ساچمه و به رغم عمل های جراحی بسیار جان سپرد. گزارش ها نشان می دهند که نیروهای سپاه پاسداران و فرمانداری تلاش کردند مانع از برگزاری مراسم تشییع شوند، اما در نهایت شماری از شهروندان خمین در این مراسم شرکت کردند.

Reports indicate that he was shot at close range, and his wounded body was initially taken to Khomein Hospital. Due to the critical nature of his injuries, he was transferred to Khomeini Hospital in Tehran after two days. It has been reported that government officials present at the hospital prevented his family from visiting him. Ultimately, Reza Abolhasani succumbed to a severe infection caused by pellet wounds, despite undergoing multiple surgeries, on 5 March. Reports suggest that the Revolutionary Guards and local authorities attempted to prevent the funeral ceremony, but a number of Khomein residents attended the event.
