On Tuesday, August 22, 2023, Mashaallah Karami, whose son, Mohammad Mehdi Karami, was executed as one of the defendants in the case known as the "Kamalshahr Protests," was arrested by security forces and taken to an unknown location.

A knowledgeable source told the Human Rights reporter in Iran: "Several security officers entered Mr. Mashaallah Karami's home, first searched the residence, and after recording the session and confiscating some items, such as mobile phones, they arrested Mr. Karami." It is noteworthy that Mohammad Mehdi Karami was executed on January 7, 2024, as the primary defendant in the case known as the "Kamalshahr Protests" on charges of "corruption on earth through committing crimes against national security," "attacking law enforcement and Basij officers," and "crimes against individuals' physical integrity, causing severe disruption to public order and insecurity in the country, leading to the death of Rouhollah Ajamian."

As of the time of this report, there is no information regarding the whereabouts, the identity of the arresting security agency, or the current status of Mashaallah Karami.

به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران، روز سه شنبه ۳۱ مرداد ماه ۱۴۰۲، ماشاالله کرمی که فرزندش، محمدمهدی کرمی، از متهمان پرونده موسوم به (اعتراضات کمالشهر) اعدام شده، توسط نیروهای امنیتی، بازداشت و به مکان نامعلومی منتقل شد.

به نقل از یک منبع مطلع در گفتگو با گزارشگر حقوق بشر در ایران:”چندین تن از ماموران امنیتی با ورود به منزل آقای ماشاالله کرمی، ابندا منزل این شهروند را تفتیش کردند و پس از صوت جلسه و توقیف برخی لوازم ازقبیل گوشی های تلفن همراه، سپس آقای کرمی را بازداشت کردند.” لازم به اشاره است، محمدمهدی کرمی، در تاریخ ۱۷ دی ماه ۱۴۰۲، بعنوان متهم ردیف اول پرونده موسوم به(اعتراضات کمالشهر)از بابت اتهامات (افساد فی الارض از طریق ارتکاب جرم علیه امنیت کشور)، (حمله به ماموران نیروی انتظامی و بسیج و جنایت علیه تمامیت جسمانی افراد که موجب اخلال شدید در نظم عمومی و ناامنی در کشور و منتهی به جان باختن روح الله عجمیان) اعدام شد.

تا لحظه تنظیم این خبر، از مکان نگهداری، نام نهاد امنیتی دستگیر کننده و از وضعیت جدید ماشاالله کرمی اطلاعی حاصل نشده است.
