Sirveh PourMohammadi

According to reports, on 18 April 2025, Sarveh Pourmohammadi, a cultural activist and member of the Nozhin Cultural-Social Association, was arrested in Sanandaj, the capital of Kordestan Province, to serve her prison sentence. She was transferred to the Sanandaj Juvenile Correction and Rehabilitation Centre.

It has been stated that her arrest occurred after she visited Branch 4 of the Enforcement of Judgments Office at the Sanandaj Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office.

On 8 April 2025, Sarveh Pourmohammadi received a written summons through the Judiciary's electronic notification system, instructing her to serve her prison sentence.

It was also reported that on 29 January 2023, she was arrested while following up on the status of detained members of the Nozhin Cultural-Social Association at the Sanandaj Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office. She was released on bail from the Sanandaj Juvenile Correction and Rehabilitation Centre on 13 February 2023.

During the judicial process, Sarveh Pourmohammadi was tried by Judge Karami, head of the First Branch of the Sanandaj Revolutionary Court, and on 26 October 2023, she was sentenced to 10 years in prison on charges of "forming and leading a group with the intent to disrupt national security." After an appeal and referral to the Kordestan Province Court of Appeal, the initial verdict against the cultural activist was upheld.

Her peaceful activities in the Nozhin Cultural-Social Association in Sanandaj were the basis for the legal case against her.
