Mohammad Zeraati has been missing since being summoned to the Zahedan Intelligence Office on 15 May 2026. Since that time, he has had no direct contact or meetings with his family. Zeraati, who is a worker and unmarried, had previously been summoned several times by phone to the Zahedan Intelligence Office in March and April. Reports indicate that during the first two summonses, he was subjected to psychological and physical pressure and was then released in various parts of Zahedan. During the third summons, Zeraati visited the Intelligence Office with his family, but officials prevented the family from entering and accompanying him. Since then, the family has only occasionally received text messages, with no direct contact or meetings established.
According to published information, interrogators have accused Zeraati of membership in groups opposing the Islamic Republic and espionage, accusations that he has denied. Reports also suggest that Zeraati has been subjected to severe pressures during interrogations, including electric shocks and beatings. Zeraati suffers from epilepsy, and the continued lack of information about his condition has increased the concern of his family and close associates.
