It was also reported that his friends were present at the hospital for the body retrieval, which occurred under unusual and hurried conditions.
Arash had witnessed the shooting of a young woman during protests and intended to assist in moving her to a safe location; however, he was also targeted by gunfire. پیکر او پس از چند ساعت و حدود ساعت ۵ عصر به خانواده تحویل داده شد. مراسم خاکسپاری آرش یزدانی در شامگاه شنبه ۲۰ دی ماه ۱۴۰۴ برگزار شده و با حضور گسترده مردم و ازدحام قابل توجه انجام شده است. منابع نزدیک گزارش داده اند که فضای امنیتی شدیدی بر روند تحویل پیکر و خاکسپاری حاکم بوده و خانواده از هرگونه اطلاع رسانی عمومی منع شده اند. همچنین گزارش شده است که دوستان او برای تحویل پیکر در بیمارستان حضور داشته اند و روند تحویل پیکر در شرایطی غیرعادی و شتاب زده انجام شده است.
آرش که شاهد تیر خوردن یک زن جوان در محل اعتراضات بود، قصد داشت برای انتقال او به مکانی امن اقدام کند، اما ماموران او را نیز هدف شلیک قرار دادند. آرش با اصابت سه گلوله جنگی به ناحیه کلیه کشته شد. پیکر او در روز شنبه ۲۰ دی ماه ۱۴۰۴ پس از پیگیری های خانواده تحویل داده شد. آرش فرزند ارشد خانواده و در بازار طلاسازی شاغل بود.
