Akbar Cheraghi, a deaf and neurodivergent (autistic) volunteer cleaner at the Deaf Association office, was killed by the Islamic Republic regime near Towhid, Tehran, on 8 January 2026.
His name was Akbar, born in 1990, and he had come from Qom to Tehran. He was deaf and volunteered at the Deaf Association office. On January 8, when he was shot near Towhid Square in Tehran, Akbar Cheraghi did not hear the gunshots at all.
