Reza Kavousi Heydari, a baker in Fooladshahr, was shot in the chest in the B5 neighbourhood of the city. Reports indicate that the shooting was carried out by the police.
Local residents and acquaintances transported his body to his home. His mother took him alone to the third floor and informed relatives. That night, his mother and close family members took Reza to the hospital, where it was confirmed that he had died at the moment the bullet struck him.
The following morning, the family went to the hospital to retrieve the body, only to find that it had been moved, with no precise information about its location. After several days of searching, his body was found in the Bagh Rezvan cemetery in Isfahan, and after persistent efforts, they managed to reclaim it.
The burial ceremony took place on 12 January. However, later that day, the family received a call from the intelligence office, instructing them to come for the body. The family believes there might have been no intention to return the body to them initially.
Reza had lost his father in childhood and, due to his affection for his mother, intended to change his surname to hers. He was a fan of the Esteghlal football team and attended their matches at Tehran's Azadi Stadium. He also had a good singing voice.

صبح روز بعد، خانواده برای گرفتن جسد به بیمارستان مراجعه کردند، اما متوجه شدند که جسد منتقل شده و اطلاعات دقیقی درباره محل آن وجود ندارد. پس از چند روز جستجو، پیکر او در باغ رضوان اصفهان پیدا شد و با پیگیری های فراوان موفق شدند پیکر را پس بگیرند.
مراسم خاکسپاری در ۲۲ دی برگزار شد. با این حال، عصر همان روز از اداره اطلاعات با خانواده تماس گرفته شد و گفته شد که برای دریافت پیکر باید مراجعه کنند. خانواده معتقدند که ممکن است قرار نبوده پیکر به آنها تحویل داده شود.
رضا در کودکی پدرش را از دست داده بود و به دلیل علاقه به مادرش، قصد داشت نام خانوادگی اش را به نام خانوادگی مادرش تغییر دهد. او به تیم استقلال علاقه زیادی داشت و برای تماشای بازی های این تیم به ورزشگاه آزادی تهران می رفت. همچنین صدای خوبی داشت و آواز می خواند.
