در ساعات پایانی 8 مرداد 1402، محمد چوکل، طراح و مدیر گالری نقاشی چوکل و ساکن ارومیه، توسط نیروهای امنیتی بازداشت و به مکان نامعلومی منتقل شد. گزارش ها حاکی از آن است که بازداشت وی در پی یورش نیروهای امنیتی به منزل او صورت گرفته است. محمد چوکل که اهل روستای داش دورگه از توابع شهرستان نقده است، پس از بازداشت به مکان نامعلومی منتقل شده و اطلاعاتی از وضعیت او و علت دقیق دستگیری اش در دست نیست.
