A Kurdish citizen from Kermanshah and a resident of Robat Karim, was killed by government forces on January 8, 2026 (18 Dey 1404) during public protests in the city.
Security institutions while banning the installation of banners and the holding of ceremonies made the handover of his body conditional on financial extortion and forcing his financially struggling father to make a coerced confession. Under severe pressure the family was compelled to falsely describe their son as a “Basij member” and claim he had been killed by “opponents” in order to obtain permission for burial.
