Ali Ghorbani was fatally shot on the evening of 8 January 2023 in Pasargad County, Fars Province, in front of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps building. It has been reported that the bullet struck his heart, resulting in his immediate death. He was transported to Saadat Shahr Hospital, but medical efforts were unsuccessful.
Ali Ghorbani was a worker from the Aliabad Kamin neighbourhood in Pasargad County and had completed his education up to the third year of middle school. His family stated that he had taken to the streets to protest economic conditions and rising prices.
Ali's body was initially kept at home on the first night before being taken by security forces. It was reported that after several days and the signing of multiple commitments, the body was returned to the family. The burial ceremony took place on the morning of 14 January 2023, between 5 and 7 a.m., in darkness, with approximately 10 to 20 close relatives present under security pressure.
علی قربانی در شامگاه ۱۸ دی در شهرستان پاسارگاد استان فارس مقابل ساختمان سپاه پاسداران با اصابت تیر جنگی کشته شد. گزارش شده است که گلوله به قلب او اصابت کرده و او در همان لحظه جان باخت. او به بیمارستان سعادت شهر منتقل شد، اما تلاش های کادر درمان بی نتیجه ماند.
علی قربانی کارگری از محله علی آباد کمین در شهرستان پاسارگاد بود و تحصیلاتش تا سوم راهنمایی ادامه داشت. خانواده او اعلام کرده اند که علی برای اعتراض به شرایط اقتصادی و گرانی به خیابان رفته بود.
پیکر علی در شب نخست در خانه نگه داشته شد و سپس نیروهای امنیتی آن را بردند. گزارش شده است که پس از چند روز و با اخذ تعهدهای متعدد، پیکر به خانواده تحویل داده شد. مراسم خاکسپاری در صبح روز ۲۴ دی بین ساعت ۵ تا ۷ صبح در تاریکی و با حضور حدود ۱۰ تا ۲۰ نفر از بستگان نزدیک و تحت فشار امنیتی برگزار شد.
