Behzad Rasouli, a resident of Saqqez, was arrested by government forces during a trip to Isfahan after returning to Iran from Iraq. The arrest took place on 26 July 2025. Following his arrest, he was initially transferred to the detention centre of the Saqqez Intelligence Department and eventually moved to the quarantine ward of Saqqez Prison after three months.
According to a report on 4 May 2026, he was sentenced to eight years in prison. Prior to this, he had engaged in a prolonged hunger strike in protest against uncertainty and security pressures.
بهزاد رسولی، شهروند اهل سقز که پس از ترک عراق به ایران بازگشته بود، روز شنبه چهارم مردادماه ۱۴۰۴، در جریان سفر به اصفهان، توسط نیروهای حکومتی بازداشت شد.
او پس از بازداشت ابتدا به بازداشتگاه اداره اطلاعات سقز منتقل شد و سرانجام پس از گذشت سه ماه، به بند قرنطینه زندان سقز انتقال یافت.
به گزارشی در ۱۴ اردیبهشت ۱۴۰۵، وی به ۸ سال حبس محکوم شد . او پیش تر در اعتراض به بلاتکلیفی و فشارهای امنیتی دست به اعتصاب غذای طولانی مدت زده بود.
