Vahab Khadiripour

Reports indicate that on 19 May 2025, Vahab Khediripour, a resident of Mahabad in West Azerbaijan Province, was detained after being summoned to the enforcement branch of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office in the city. He was subsequently transferred to Mahabad Prison for the execution of his prison sentence.

Vahab Khediripour was tried by the judge of the first branch of the Revolutionary Court of Mahabad and sentenced to 10 months of discretionary imprisonment on charges of "propaganda against the regime in favour of one of the Kurdish opposition parties to the Iranian government." His verdict was communicated to him in March 2025.

On 30 January 2025, Vahab Khediripour was arrested after being summoned to the Intelligence Office of Mahabad. Following his transfer to a detention centre and completion of interrogation procedures, he was released on 20 February 2025 on bail valued at 500 million tomans.

Earlier, on 27 January 2025, officers from the Intelligence Office of Mahabad raided Vahab Khediripour's home with the intention of arresting him. He was accused of "collaborating with one of the opposition parties," though further details, including the party's name or evidence, were not provided, and he was not granted the right to a lawyer during the interrogation period. Vahab Khediripour is related to Shomal Khediripour, one of the deceased from the Zhina movement.
