A man named Mahmoud was at the airport, waiting for his flight and assuring his daughter in Toronto that he had packed warm clothing. He had been informed about an attack on bases in Iraq and recalled the days when Tehran and Abadan airports were bombed. Mahmoud was hopeful that he would soon embrace his grandchild.
Mahmoud proceeded to the transit lounge with his suitcase, awaiting his flight. His wife called to inquire about the possibility of the flight being cancelled. Mahmoud reassured her that the flight would soon depart, alleviating her concerns. He had endured challenging experiences in southern Iran and the oil industry.
Mahmoud boarded the flight with his hopes, but the flight never reached its destination. Air defence near the airport was preparing for its mission, and moments later, the first missile was launched towards the aircraft.
محمود در فرودگاه منتظر پرواز خود بود و به دخترش در تورنتو اطمینان می داد که لباس گرم همراه دارد. او از حمله ی سپاه به پایگاه های عراق مطلع شده بود و روزهای بمباران فرودگاه تهران و آبادان را به یاد می آورد. محمود امیدوار بود که به زودی نوه اش را در آغوش بگیرد.
محمود با چمدان خود به سالن ترانزیت رفت و در انتظار پرواز بود. همسرش با او تماس گرفت و از احتمال کنسل شدن پرواز پرسید. محمود اطمینان داد که پرواز به زودی انجام می شود و نگرانی ها را کاهش داد. او تجربه های سختی را در جنوب ایران و در صنعت نفت پشت سر گذاشته بود.
محمود با آرزوهای خود به پرواز رسید، اما پرواز به مقصد هرگز محقق نشد. پدافند نزدیک فرودگاه در حال آماده سازی برای انجام مأموریت خود بود و دقایقی بعد موشک اول به سوی هواپیما شلیک شد.
