The Mehrgan (Hasan) Zahmatkesh was supposed to celebrate his thirtieth birthday on October 20, 2022, but the candle of his life was extinguished forever when the officers of Lakan prison in Rasht fired "three war bullets".
On Sunday, October 9, 2022, in the midst of the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people, reports of a conflict and a fire in Lakan prison in Rasht were published on social networks. Some families gathered in front of the entrance of this prison, worried about the health of their children. To prevent the presence of more families and protesters, the security forces blocked the communication routes to this prison.
A source close to the Mehrgan's family told Deutsche Welle Farsi about the last hours of Mehrgan's life and the events that happened in prison. Mehrgan called the family almost every day. In one of his last calls, he said that a revolution is happening. I should have been out now."
This source close to the Zahmatkesh family, who did not want to be named, added: "He told the family that they had emptied two wards of the prison and that the protesters were being detained there. He had explained that I feel for them and my heart hearts for them. All those who are in this section are young. Some have not even reached the legal age and the prison officers harass them a lot.
"This 30yearold man was imprisoned in Ward 4 of Lakan prison in Rasht with a short term sentence and was supposed to be released soon.
A person close to the family adds that since the morning of October 9, when there was still no news of the conflict and events in the prison, "special unit forces" have gone there.
The family has spoken with several other prisoners and their families, and based on their statements, prison officers have been persecuting detained protesters, so that the sound of shouting could be heard from the main corridor of the prison, and other prisoners They start protesting and shouting in support of the detained protesters. At the same time, the forces of the special unit attacked the prisoners and threw tear gas in the closed space of the prison. It is said that some of them died due to suffocation. This situation forces the prisoners to burn their blankets."
According to this source, with the intensity of the fire, smoke and crowding, the agents were forced to open the doors and run away to the place called "ZireHasht". Mehrgan and a number of other prisoners came out of the prison and reached the open space of the prison through the main corridor and ran towards the entrance of the prison, but at the same time the prison officers shot them from the top of the wall.
"As far as I know, at least 12 people have been killed there," says a source close to Mehrgan Zahmatkesh's family. Mehrgan was shot three times; All from behind. "One hit his left thigh, one hit his spleen and kidney, and the other hit his ankle."
This person revealed a horrible crime: "The shooting happened around 3 to 4 in the afternoon on October 9, but they were released from prison at 1:30 in the morning. That is, they take out their bodies, while they had lost their lives due to severe bleeding. In the death certificate of some of them, the cause of death is shock caused by bleeding.
An ambulance driver present at the scene told the families of the prisoners that they had been waiting "for five hours" behind the doors of the Lakan prison in Rasht before they could enter, but the head of the prison said that no one has the right to enter the prison until I allow them.
After two days, the hardworking family receives a phone call from the hospital to identify and hand over the body of their child. The family's visits to the city's hospitals in these two days to find Mehregan were unsuccessful, while his body was in the morgue of "Poursina Hospital in Rasht".
According to a source close to the family: "The family saw a list containing the names of 12 other people who were also killed by war arrows in the prison the same night when they went to perform the legal procedures of handing over the body." The ninth row was Mehregan. Of course, his name was Hasan in his birth certificate, but he was called Mehregan since he was a child.
The security agents rejected the request of the family to bury their child in the family tomb in "Taze Abad Cemetery" in Rasht and say that the only place you are allowed to bury your child is "Behesht Rezvan".

یکشنبه ۱۷ مهر ۱۴۰۱ در بحبوحه خیزش سراسری مردم ایران، گزارش هایی مبنی بر درگیری و آتش سوزی در زندان لاکان رشت در شبکه های اجتماعی منتشر شد. برخی خانواده ها نگران از وضعیت سلامتی فرزندانشان مقابل ورودی این زندان تجمع کردند. نیروهای امنیتی برای جلوگیری از حضور بیشتر خانواده ها و معترضان راه های ارتباطی به این زندان را مسدود کردند.
یک منبع نزدیک به خانواده مهرگان زحمتکش در گفت و گو با دویچه وله فارسی از آخرین ساعات زندگی مهرگان و حوادثی که در زندان رخ داد می گویدک مهرگان تقریبا هرروز با خانواده تماس می گرفت. در یکی از آخرین تماس هایش گفته بود می گن داره انقلاب می شه. من الان باید بیرون می بودم.»
این منبع نزدیک به خانواده زحمتکش که نخواست نامش فاش شود، افزود: «به خانواده گفته بود دو بند از زندان را خالی کرده اند و معترضان بازداشتی را در آنجا نگه می دارند. تعریف کرده بود که دلم می سوزد. همه کسانی که در این بند هستند کم سن و سال اند. حتی بعضی به سن قانونی نرسیده اند و ماموران زندان آن ها را خیلی اذیت می کنند.»
این جوان سی ساله با یک حکم کوتاه مدت در بند ۴ زندان لاکان رشت محبوس شده بود و قرار بود به زودی آزاد شود.
فرد نزدیک به خانواده اضافه می کند که از صبح روز ۱۷ مهرماه که هنوز خبری از درگیری و اتفاقات زندان نبود، “نیروهای یگان ویژه” به آنجا رفته اند.
«خانواده با چند نفر دیگر از زندانیان و خانواده هایشان صحبت کرده اند و بر اساس گفته های آنان ماموران زندان در حال آزار و اذیت معترضان بازداشتی بوده اند، به طوری که صدای داد و فریاد از راهروی اصلی زندان به گوش می رسیده و سایر زندانیان در حمایت از معترضان بازداشتی شروع به اعتراض و داد و فریاد می کنند. در همین زمان نیروهای یگان ویژه به زندانیان هجوم برده و در فضای بسته زندان گاز اشک آور پرتاب می کنند. گفته شده، تعدادی بر اثر خفگی جانشان را از دست داده اند. این وضعیت زندانیان را مجبور به آتش زدن پتوهایشان می کند.»
به گفته این منبع، با شدت گرفتن آتش، دود و ازدحام جمعیت، ماموران مجبور به باز کردن در بندها شده و خود به سمت محلی که ”زیر هشت” نامیده می شد فرار می کنند. مهرگان با تعدادی دیگر از زندانیان از بند بیرون آمده و از راهروی اصلی به فضای باز زندان رسیده و به سمت در ورودی زندان می دوند، اما در همین زمان ماموران زندان از بالای دیوار به آنان شلیک می کنند.
منبع نزدیک به خانواده مهرگان زحمتکش می گوید: «تا جایی که من می دانم دست کم ۱۲ نفر آنجا کشته شده اند. مهرگان سه تیر خورده بود؛ همه از پشت سر. یکی به ران چپ، یکی به طحال و کلیه و دیگری به مچ پایش اصابت کرده بود.»
فرد نزدیک به خانواده زحمتکش پرده از جنایتی هولناک برمی دارد: «تیراندازی حدود ساعت ۳ تا ۴ بعدازظهر ۱۷ مهرماه رخ داده، اما ساعت یک و نیم شب به بعد آنان را از زندان خارج می کنند؛ یعنی جنازه هایشان را بیرون می برند، در حالی که از شدت خونریزی جانشان را از دست داده بودند. در گواهی فوت تعدادی از آنان علت مرگ شوک ناشی از خونریزی عنوان شده است.»
یک راننده آمبولانس حاضر در صحنه به خانواده زندانیان گفته بود که آنان ”پنج ساعت” پشت درهای زندان لاکان رشت منتظر مانده بودند تا بتوانند وارد شوند، اما رئیس زندان گفته بود تا من اجازه ندهم هیچکس حق ورود به زندان را ندارد.
خانواده زحمتکش بعد از گذشت دو روز با تماسی تلفنی از بیمارستان برای شناسایی و تحویل پیکر فرزندشان با خبر می شوند. مراجعه خانواده به بیمارستان های شهر در تمام این دو روز برای پیدا کردن مهرگان بی نتیجه بوده، در صورتی که پیکر او در سردخانه “بیمارستان پورسینای رشت” بوده است.
به گفته منبع نزدیک به خانواده زحمتکش: «خانواده در مراجعه برای انجام مراحل قانونی تحویل پیکر، لیستی شامل نام ۱۲ نفر دیگر که آن ها هم همان شب با تیر جنگی در زندان کشته شده بودند را دیده. ردیف نهم مهرگان بود. البته در شناسنامه نام او حسن بود، اما از کودکی مهرگان صدایش می زدند.»
ماموران امنیتی درخواست خانواده برای دفن فرزندشان در مقبره خانوادگی در “گورستان تازه آباد رشت” را رد کرده و می گویند تنها جایی که اجازه دارید فرزندتان را دفن کنید “بهشت رضوان” است.
