Leila Afarin

It has been reported that Leila Afrin, a political prisoner in Evin Prison, was denied access to adequate medical care despite suffering from a malignant brain tumour. Available information indicates that prior to her arrest, Ms. Afrin experienced severe muscle weakness and had lost her ability to walk. Following her arrest and conviction, her symptoms worsened due to the lack of appropriate medical services. It is said that she continuously suffered from headaches, dizziness, body tremors, and difficulty controlling her legs, and was unable to stand or walk in Evin Prison without the assistance of other prisoners or support from the wall. Despite repeated requests, she remained deprived of specialised medical services and proper treatment. Leila Afrin, who was serving her sentence in Evin Prison, was released with leave connected to the end of her sentence. Her release occurred on 20 July, when she was granted leave connected to her freedom.
