On Thursday evening, 18 Dey 1404 (8 January 2026), a Kurdish citizen from Mashhad, was shot in the throat by live ammunition fired by government suppressive forces during the public protests in front of the Haft Tir police station in the city and was killed.
He was a welder and had gone to the streets to protest after returning from work. His body was returned to his family two days later at Beheshte Rezvan Cemetery in Mashhad where he was buried.
