امیرمهدی کودک کار بود. او در خیاطی کارگری می کرد. او برای کمک به تامین معیشت خانواده اش به دنیای کار پا نهاده بود. برای زندگی بهتر و برخورداری از حداقل حقوق انسانی در ایران به خیابان رفت اما پاسخ اش را با گلوله دادند.
پیکر امیرمهدی را جمعه ۱۹دی به خانواده اش تحویل دادند و آن ها در جمعیتی اندک پسر نوجوان خود را به خاک سپردند.
