According to the verdict issued by the judge of the first branch of the Tehran Provincial Court of Appeals, Bahman Babazadeh was sentenced to pay a fine instead of serving a 6-month prison sentence for the charge of "defamation" and to endure a 5-month prison sentence for the charge of "spreading falsehoods in cyberspace," which was also converted to a fine. It is noteworthy that the sentence against Bahman Babazadeh was issued following a complaint by the Deputy Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Tehran Province against this media activist.

به گزارش حقوق بشر در ایران، طی روزهای اخیر، بهمن بابازاده، خبرنگار و فعال رسانه ای حوزه موسیقی، توسط قاضی شعبه اول دادگاه تجدیدنظر استان تهران، به پرداخت جریمه نقدی بدل از ۶ ماه حبس تعزیری محکوم شد.
براساس دادنامه صادره توسط قاضی شعبه اول دادگاه تجدیدنظر استان تهران؛ بهمن بابازاده، از بابت اتهام «افترا» به پرداخت جریمه نقدی بدل از ۶ ماه حبس تعزیری و به اتهام «نشر اکاذیب در فضای مجازی» هم به تحمل ۵ ماه حبس تعزیری محکوم شده و این حبس هم به پرداخت جریمه نقدی تبدیل شده است. لازم به ذکر است، حکم صادره بر علیه بهمن بابازاده، در پی شکایت معاون هنری وزارت فرهنگ و ارشاد استان تهران، علیه این فعال رسانه ای صادر شده است.
