Vahid Ghahremani

Branch 23 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court has sentenced three individuals, Amirreza Rezaei, Vahid Gahremani, and a cleric identified as Mehdi, who were arrested during the nationwide protests in December 2025 (Dey 1404), to death.

Following the issuance of their sentences, the three prisoners were transferred from Tehran Greater Prison to Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj.

According to the Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA), one of the charges brought against the three individuals was described as "operational activities on behalf of Israel." The death sentences were communicated to them in prison on Monday, 4 Aban 1405 (26 October 2026). No further details have been made public regarding the evidence relied upon by the court.

One of the defendants, a cleric named Mehdi, whose surname has not yet been identified, reportedly has a previous history of membership in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). In addition to his death sentence issued by the Tehran Revolutionary Court, he was separately sentenced to death by the Special Clerical Court on charges of "apostasy." He is therefore currently facing two death sentences.

Amirreza Rezaei, Vahid Gahremani, and Mehdi were each arrested separately by security forces during the December 2025 protests.

Following court proceedings and the notification of their death sentences, the three prisoners were transferred from Tehran Greater Prison to Ghezel Hesar Prison in Karaj on Wednesday, 5 Aban 1405 (27 October 2026).
