Mehrshad Shafaei, 22, died on the evening of January 8 near Taleghani Park in Saveh after being shot twice in the heart.
According to informed sources, Mehrshad was unreachable around 9 PM, and by approximately 10 PM, his family was contacted by Fatemeh Zahra Hospital in Saveh, stating that his condition was critical. When the family arrived at the hospital, it was determined that he had passed away before reaching the medical facility. Sources reported that signs of bleeding were observed from his ears and nose, and the family was only allowed to accompany the body up to the mortuary.
Based on this information, Mehrshad was shot while approaching the scene to assist an injured person. It is reported that after being shot, his body remained at the location for some time before being transported to the hospital by car.
Informed sources emphasized that his body was seen at the hospital on January 8, but the official handover was delayed until January 14. Ultimately, it was released from Behesht Rezvan in Saveh and buried there.
These sources stated that no fee was charged for the release of the body, but there were restrictions imposed on holding the burial ceremony. Additionally, despite the time elapsed since the burial, the burial permit has not yet been provided to his family.
According to the information received, Mehrshad's father had died about five years ago due to leukemia, and his family was still mourning that loss. Sources indicated that after the burial ceremony, the family received calls suggesting that he be declared a "martyr," but this request was not accepted, and the calls continue.

«مهرشاد شفائی» ۲۲ ساله شامگاه ۱۸ دی ماه در حوالی پارک طالقانی ساوه با اصابت دو گلوله به ناحیه قلب جان باخت.
به گفته منابع آگاه مهرشاد حدود ساعت ۹ شب از دسترس خارج شد و حوالی ساعت ۱۰ شب از بیمارستان فاطمه زهرا ساوه با خانواده او تماس گرفته شد و اعلام شد وضعیتش مساعد نیست. با حضور خانواده در بیمارستان مشخص شد که او پیش از رسیدن به مرکز درمانی جان خود را از دست داده است. منابع آگاه می گویند آثار خونریزی از ناحیه گوش و بینی او مشاهده شده بود و خانواده تنها تا مقابل سردخانه اجازه همراهی پیکر را داشتند.
بر اساس این اطلاعات مهرشاد در حالی هدف شلیک قرار گرفت که برای کمک به فردی مجروح به محل نزدیک شده بود. گفته می شود پس از اصابت گلوله پیکر او مدتی در محل باقی مانده و سپس با خودرو به بیمارستان منتقل شده است.
منابع آگاه تاکید کرده اند پیکر او در روز ۱۸ دی در بیمارستان دیده شد اما تحویل رسمی آن تا ۲۴ دی به تعویق افتاد و در نهایت از بهشت رضوان ساوه تحویل و همان جا به خاک سپرده شد.
به گفته این منابع برای تحویل پیکر وجهی دریافت نشد اما برای برگزاری مراسم خاکسپاری محدودیت هایی اعمال شد. همچنین با وجود گذشت زمان از خاکسپاری هنوز جواز دفن به خانواده او تحویل داده نشده است.
بر اساس اطلاعات دریافتی پدر مهرشاد حدود پنج سال پیش بر اثر ابتلا به سرطان خون جان باخته بود و خانواده او همچنان در سوگ آن فقدان به سر می بردند. منابع آگاه می گویند پس از مراسم خاکسپاری نیز تماس هایی با خانواده برقرار شده تا او «شهید» اعلام شود اما این درخواست پذیرفته نشده و این تماس ها همچنان ادامه دارد
