Jalal Mohammadkarimi

On 18 May 2025, it was reported that Jalal Mohammadkarimi, a resident of Bukan County in West Azerbaijan Province, was summoned to the enforcement branch of the local prosecutor's office to serve his prison sentence. According to the issued enforcement order, he was required to report to the public and revolutionary prosecutor's office in Bukan to serve part of his 10-year prison sentence.

Previously, Jalal Mohammadkarimi had been tried by the judge of Branch 101 of the Criminal Court 1 in Bukan County on charges of "possession of illegal weapons" and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, with one-third of the sentence suspended for two years.

After an appeal and referral of the case to Branch 23 of the West Azerbaijan Province Court of Appeals, his prison sentence was reduced to 2 years and 1 day, with one-third of the sentence remaining suspended.

On 15 January 2023, Jalal Mohammadkarimi was arrested following a raid by security forces at his home in Bukan County. He was transferred to a detention centre of a security agency in West Azerbaijan Province, underwent interrogation and investigation, and was then moved to Bukan Central Prison. He was later released on bail.
