According to news sources, on 28 July 2024, Shirko Mam Karimi, a resident of Bukan County, was sentenced by the criminal court of that county to three months of imprisonment and a fine. The court ruling indicated that he was convicted on charges of disturbing public order, engaging in altercations, insulting officers during their duties, and damaging public property.
Shirko Mam Karimi was arrested by security forces on 5 December 2022 during the funeral ceremony of Samko Moloudi in Mahabad County. After being transferred to a detention centre and undergoing interrogation, he was released on bail on 19 December 2022.

شیرکو مام کریمی در 14 آذر 1401، توسط ماموران امنیتی در جریان مراسم تدفین سمکو مولودی در شهرستان مهاباد دستگیر شد و پس از انتقال به بازداشتگاه و طی مراحل بازجویی، در 28 آذر 1401 با تودیع وثیقه آزاد شد.
