محمدرضا افضلی، متولد ۱۳۶۲، در جریان اعتراضات ۱۸ دی ۱۴۰۴ هدف گلوله جنگی و ساچمه ای قرار گرفت. ساچمه ها به شکمش اصابت کرد و پزشکان یک گلوله جنگی و هفت ساچمه را از بدنش خارج کردند. او یک ماه در بیمارستان با مرگ جنگید، اما سرانجام تاب نیاورد.
محمدرضا شغل آزاد داشت، متأهل بود و در زمان مرگ دخترش ۱۳ سال داشت. پیکرش ۱۸ بهمن ماه ۱۴۰۴ به خاک سپرده شد و برایش مراسمی کوچک برگزار کردند.

During the protests on 8 January 2027, he was shot with live ammunition and shotgun pellets. He died from his injuries after one month in hospital.
Mohammadreza Afzali, born in 1983, was shot with live and pellet bullets during the protests on 8 January 2026. Pellets struck his abdomen, and doctors removed one live bullet and seven pellets from his body. He spent a month in hospital fighting for his life but ultimately did not survive. Mohammadreza was self-employed and married, and at the time of his death, his daughter was 13 years old. His body was laid to rest on 7 February 2026, and a small ceremony was held in his memory.
